7. Fronta Festival of contemporary dance
31 August 2012, at 3 pm and 7 pm (city centre)
Choreography: Ragnhild Olsen (GB)
Photography: Chris Nash (GB)
Produced by Flota
Murska Sobota, Slovenia 2012
The Moving Gallery is choreographed by Ragnhild Olsen (ex Jonathan Burrows Group) with young dancers from Slovenia and Croatia. Large photographic images (the result of two days of workshops for dancers and photographers, led by leading Dance Photographer Chris Nash) will be paraded around Murska Sobota by the dancers in a continuously changing, constantly moving outdoor gallery.
Chris Nash will be projecting a selection from his Victoria & Albert Museum touring exhibition ‘A Flash Of Light’ on to the exterior wall of the Park Theatre each night throughout the festival, as well as two ambient movement videos ‘Evolve’ and ’10 x 10′
Pitched somewhere between a pop promo and a high fashion art shoot, Nash’s pictures have played an integral part in making dance look daring, glamorous and dangerously beautiful. In a word, he makes it cool.
